Adding GPS to your mobile platform opens an entirely new chapter for rover driving algorithms. As you get a lot more data about the rover position, GPS can be the first step to make the platform autonomous. You can easily implement such functions as ‘return home’ or ‘follow the path’. Now you will know the robot speed, direction of driving, vehicle pitch, even a gradient of surface your robot drives on.
